Software Engineer, Sr. (Remote | 24x7x365 Ops | DoD)
Title: Software Engineer, Sr. (24x7x365 Operations and Direct Client Interfacing Support)
Location: Remote (USA)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week in support of 24x7x365 operations (Weekday and Weekend Shift Availability Required)
Clearance: US Citizen | DoD Secret Clearance
Shift: (9AM - 5PM mostly, but also pager duty to respond to incidents in the evening/night/weekend)
About this role:
ā¢ Rackner is seeking a Software Engineer (24x7x365 operations) that will interact directly with the customer to support Air Force Platform One and Air Mobility Command in ensuring that we maintain high uptime for their chat operations.
ā¢ Air Mobility Command requires 24x7x365 readiness due to their global requirements so this position will require working outside of regular business hours (east coast time).
ā¢ The Software Engineer analyzes coding problems and develops improvements to procedures while exercising independent judgement.
ā¢ Designs, develops, troubleshoots, debugs, and implements software.
We are looking for strong experience with:
ā¢ Several modern languages (Javascript, Go, HTML, etc.) with expertise to design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, and implement high quality code
ā¢ A wide variety of computing environments including cloud and containerized solutions
ā¢ Cultivates a "security-first" and "test-first" approach to test-driven development
ā¢ Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following: Go, React, Docker
ā¢ Exposure to: Gitlab | AWS | Kubernetes | SQL (Postgres or MySQL)

ā¢ Assist the 24x7x365 team in ensuring that Mattermost is operational at all times
ā¢ Work on innovative R&D tasks while there are no active support requests
ā¢ Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments
ā¢ Plans and leads major technology assignments
ā¢ Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success
ā¢ Functions as a technical expert across the team and tasks
ā¢ Creates and maintains documentation for implementations
ā¢ Execute full software development life-cycle (SDLC)
ā¢ Develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to identify requirements and solutions
ā¢ Write well-designed, testable code
ā¢ Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
ā¢ Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
ā¢ Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
ā¢ Document and maintain software functionality
ā¢ Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
ā¢ Answer phone calls from customers, and help fix issues in the production code or deployment
ā¢ Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback
ā¢ Comply with project plans and industry standards
ā¢ Ensure software is updates with latest features
