Software Engineer (Insights)

About the Role:CloudZero is the leading cloud cost intelligence platform, helping engineering teams understand and optimize their cloud spend. We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our Insights team—responsible for surfacing cost-saving opportunities, identifying spend anomalies, and delivering meaningful analytics to customers building in the cloud.If you’re passionate about solving complex data problems, building user-focused backend systems, and making a measurable impact at scale, this role is for you.Ready to help engineers save money and build smarter in the cloud?What You’ll DoDesign, build, and maintain scalable APIs, services, and backend systems.Write clean, maintainable Python code that’s easy to extend and iterate on.Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to build features that solve real customer problems.Contribute to improving our engineering systems and workflows to support fast iteration and team ownership.Scale our platform to support larger datasets and growing enterprise customers.Our Tech StackWe leverage modern serverless technologies to power a real-time, event-driven architecture:AWS Lambda, Step Functions, S3, EventBridge.Snowflake for large-scale data processing.Python as our primary backend language.Kanban workflow and small, cross-functional teams.You May Be a Great Fit If You3+ years in software development, preferably SaaS.Have experience building and maintaining APIs and backend systems in cloud environments (AWS preferred).Enjoy working with large datasets and solving data-centric engineering challenges.Are fluent in Python and take pride in writing high-quality, scalable software.Understand and apply system design principles pragmatically.Value cross-functional collaboration and turning feedback into well-crafted solutions.Are open to a hybrid schedule and able to work from our Boston Collaboration Center once per week.Please note: CloudZero is unable to sponsor employment visas or provide immigration-related support now or in the future.
