DESCRIPTION

Amazon Robotics is scaling up a new foundational system which will transform warehouse robotics. The team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to help us deliver on this ambitious goal.

The ideal candidate is excited to learn. They are passionate about building software that users love. They have solved complex problems and seen their solutions deployed at scale in live environments. They understand how to build systems comprised of services from multiple partner teams.

Key job responsibilities
Specific areas of focus may include (but are not limited too):
- Working closely with software and hardware engineers to design, develop, deploy, and test edge and cloud-based software
- Helping explore bold new ideas through research and prototyping
- Taking ownership of investigating and solving problems for the customer
- Partnering with engineers from partner teams to solve challenging problems

About the team
The Robotic Storage Technology software team is a diverse and distributed team that owns the software that helps Amazon deliver with ever-increasing speed. We focus on making Amazon's warehouse associates' jobs safer and easier. We design and build solutions that run on the edge and in the cloud. We innovate with our customers through close collaboration and constant iteration. We unlock new opportunities through experimentation. We take time to invest in ourselves. We are the TACO team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with React or a similar front-end library
