Job Title: Senior ITAM Specialist
Location: Columbia, SC
Work Environment: Fully Onsite is preferred but will consider hybrid/remote.
Schedule: 8:30am ā 5:00pm - overtime, travel, on call, weekends, and off hours as needed on a rare occasion
Contract length: 12 Months (possibly extended)
Job Summary:
Duties:
ā¢ Supports the asset management life cycle of information technology hardware and/or software assets throughout the organization.
ā¢ Implement policies, processes and procedures in support of Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) objectives.
ā¢ Identify and integrate ITAM processes with related processes within IS, to include Integrated Cloud Orchestration System (ICOS), procurement management, contract management, change management, and incident management.
ā¢ 40% Analyze and reconcile asset discovery data against current inventory data, entitlement data, and contractual terms and conditions for IT assets.
ā¢ Create and execute action plans to research and resolve identified gaps.
ā¢ Audit hardware inventories for accuracy.
ā¢ Analyze hardware utilization reports to understand current demand and forecast future utilization.
ā¢ Establish appropriate inventory levels to support business demand.
ā¢ 30% Provide ITAM support and services to IS projects upgrading or implementing new software and hardware assets.
ā¢ Maintain involvement into IT operations and system configuration changes that may impact ITAM functions, inventory data, or licensing compliance.
ā¢ Forecast, track and notify interested IS organizations of critical lifecycle and contractual milestones and activities (expirations, renewals, etc.).
ā¢ Provide data, knowledge and preparation in support of the milestones as appropriate.
ā¢ 20% Implement processes for IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) activities ensuring work is in compliance with regulatory, government, and customer requirements.
ā¢ Actively seek and identify opportunities for cost savings and containment.
ā¢ Package and present ITAM savings opportunities to Senior Management.
ā¢ 10% Participate in budget creation and development efforts related to IT assets.
ā¢ Mentor entry level ITAM personnel.
Day To Day:
ā¢ Typical day would be working with the team on delivery, data, documentation and service to Customer.
Work Environment:
ā¢ Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.
ā¢ Travel to sites may be required.

ā¢ Need someone who is skilled at IBM as well as a generalist in the other large vendors.
ā¢ Many Software Asset Managers normally have experience with multiple vendors on various platforms.
ā¢ Seeking a Software Asset Manager with large scale data center and enterprise level experience.
ā¢ All candidates must have functioned as a Software Asset Manager as a full time responsibility, not as a collateral duty as part of another role.
ā¢ The candidate should have experience supporting the software licensing needs of a large data center across multiple platforms and environments to include Wintel devices, Mainframe and UNIX utilizing software from major publishers.
ā¢ While all environments are not required, a good cross section of platform experience is expected for all candidates.
ā¢ Extensive experience in licensing scenarios within a highly virtualized environment is required.
ā¢ A solid understanding of electronic discovery in an enterprise environment with specific experience in HCL BigFix Inventory a plus.
ā¢ This candidate should be able to show subject matter expertise and experience supporting licensing and consumption data for large vendors (e.g. IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, CA, Adobe, etc.) in a dynamic environment.
ā¢ Candidates should be articulate and able to communicate and present effectively to Senior Management and external customers.

Required Work Experience:
ā¢ 5 years of asset management, procurement, workstation support, or other job related work experience.
Required Education:
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in job related field or 4 years of IT or other job related work experience or an Associates degree and 2 years of IT or other job related work experience.
Required Skills and Abilities:
ā¢ Strong knowledge of Asset Management policies, procedures and concepts.
ā¢ In depth understanding of hardware/software licensing/maintenance models.
ā¢ Strong analytical, assessment and problem-solving skills.
ā¢ Excellent communication, organizational, planning and time management skills, with ability to prioritize and multi-task assignments.
Soft Skills:
ā¢ Adaptability number one, listening is important, communication with other team members need to be able to work alone and contribute as a self-starter and work with the team as well, comfortable with working in a full remote environment.
