Software Android Engineer
PayPal has been revolutionizing commerce globally for more than 25 years, and they are seeking an Android Mobile Engineer to help design, develop, and test the PayPal Android Consumer App. The role involves collaborating with teams to build, test, and iterate on solutions for customers while ensuring code quality and adherence to standards.ResponsibilitiesImplements tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), receiving structure and oversight from more experienced staffFollows well-established internal conventions and standard proceduresUnderstands internal standards & processes and applies them to make technical decisionsCollaborates with peers, manager, and project lead to gain understanding of tasks and review solutionsMay contribute to code & design reviewsContributes to native Android app development by converting ideas, designs, and requirements into concrete, stable production buildsParticipates in design and solutioning for specific use cases that provide frameworks, interfaces, and services that can be extended and reused for future requirementsWorks with product, project, and engineering teams to deliver products on schedule that solve our customersβ problemsCollaborates with Engineering and QA to resolve bugsDevelops and communicates technical processes, standards, and best practices to the teamSkills1+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience2+ years of Android development experience (or Master's with 1+ years of Android experience)Knowledge of multi-threaded, asynchronous codeExperience with animation, and implementing user interface designsKnowledge of design patterns like MVVMSkilled at writing Unit and Automation testsB.S. or equivalent degree in Computer ScienceThorough understanding of the Android Studio and GradleExpert understanding of the Android System APIs, Firebase Services, Android app lifecycleKnowledge of open-source and commercial libraries commonly used in the Android ecosystemPrior experience of building SDKs and distributing to clients is a plusRestful API Development experience is a big plusA team player who values collaboration, innovation, and inclusionInterested in keeping up-to-date with the latest technological developmentsComfortable working in an Agile environmentStrong verbal and written communication skillsInterest in the payments industryBenefitsFlexible work environmentEmployee shares optionsHealth and life insuranceCompany OverviewPayPal is a financial service company that provides online payment solutions to its users worldwide.
