Social Content Intern, Digital Video

Job Description: • Assist in tracking performance metrics and video analytics on ESPN platforms to enhance distribution models. • Participate with teams internally and externally in the creation and distribution of content that best activates new audiences. • Navigate digital social platforms and apply that expertise to expand reach, engagement, and distribution of content. • Analyze usage and performance metrics that can lead to content enhancements and improvements. • Maintain proficiency and knowledge in latest trends and best practices for video distribution on YouTube channels and ESPN Platforms. • Produce, create and edit videos including headline writing, tagging, managing an overall style and voice, and working with subject matter experts. • Develop an awareness of the operations of multiple ESPN units to collaborate successfully in identifying and/or developing up-to-the-minute video content optimized for multiple platforms and user needs. • Work on delivering up-to-the-minute video content optimized for mobile/social environments. Requirements: • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. • Be at least 18 years of age. • Possess unrestricted work authorization. • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship. • Fully available Monday through Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week (some flexibility based on academic schedule). • Previous experience working in a media environment (academic or internship) creating and managing content and publishing to live streams. • Strong base of current sports knowledge, including teams, players and storylines and appreciation of news and story play. • Excellent headline writing skills and an understanding of optimal tactics for content distribution. • Ability to create and tell stories in a fast-paced, highly competitive environment and juggle multiple varied tasks. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Reliable internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace (remote requirement). • Junior or Senior year preferred; Major or previous coursework in Communications, Journalism, Sports Media or related major preferred. • Preferred: Experience with a variety of digital content management systems. • Preferred: Understands and follows the latest social media trends. • Preferred: Non-linear editing skills (Quantel, Final Cut, Avid, Premiere, After Effects, WSC, etc.). • Preferred: Experience in editing content specific to the needs of multiple social media platforms. • Preferred: Good appreciation of pop culture and understanding of how sports fans consume content on mobile devices. Benefits: • The pay rate for this remote role is 22.50 per hour. • Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered. • This internship is a remote position (Fully Remote). • There may be some flexibility based on candidate’s academic schedule.
