Soccer Coach - Mentor - Head Coach

Independent Health is looking for a Soccer Head Coach-Mentor to lead a youth development program for children in grades K-8. This role involves conducting soccer practices and games while fostering healthy habits and life skills among players. Responsibilities Lead soccer practices three times per week for 75 minutes each day, for a 10–12-week session Prepare for and ensure understanding of curriculum for each practice session Manage issued equipment and assist with bringing equipment to and from location as needed Take daily attendance Attend all required trainings prior to coaching and stay in compliance with certifications including but not limited to U.S. Foundation Curriculum training, CDC Heads Up Concussion training and SafeSport training Attend all special events (End of Season Party, etc.) Communicate any issues/concerns regularly with Site Manager and Program Manager(s) Abide by organizational guidelines, schedules and site policies including submitting incident report forms as needed Be active on Sling, reading all pertinent updates, clocking in and out, and communicating with your site group Provide motivating and encouraging environment for players Assist with data gathering as requested Skills Previous coaching experience required Passion for urban education, health education, youth development and sports Excellent people skills in a diverse environment Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with staff, site coordinators, parents, and players Ability to motivate others around you and work as part of a team Must be 18 years or older Must pass a background check Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship Must have access to reliable means of transportation Proven examples of displaying the IH values: Passionate, Caring, Respectful, Trustworthy, Collaborative and Accountable Knowledge of soccer, sports, or youth development preferred Benefits Full range of benefits Generous paid time off Company Overview As one of Western New York's first HMOs, Independent Health covers approximately 355,000 people here and across the country with more than 100 plans, services and products.
