About the position Responsibilities • Support MECK Pre-K students, families, teachers, and program providers. • Develop and enforce a County level parent/family engagement and support policy. • Collaborate with Registration and Intake Specialists and Success Coaches for comprehensive service delivery. • Model and inspire excellence in child and family-centered services according to State and MPK Program policies. • Eliminate barriers to family engagement in the MPK program. • Establish cooperative relationships with families, center leaders, and community partners. • Provide coaching and technical assistance to MPK teaching teams. • Curate and maintain resources for parents and center staff on social-emotional development. • Serve as a liaison between the MPK program, teachers, families, and social workers. • Train MPK teachers in positive classroom guidance techniques. • Assist teachers in identifying and modifying negative behaviors in the classroom. • Participate in IEP meetings as needed. • Conduct assessments of support needs through surveys and provide recommendations to leadership. • Attend required Professional Development for MPK teachers and site providers. • Generate and interpret reports for MPK leadership and stakeholders. • Maintain documentation of all support service activities. Requirements • Minimum of BA/BS degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Child Psychology, or related field. • Three years of successful experience providing direct services to young children and families. • Two years of administrative leadership experience in early education programs, including training and consulting. Nice-to-haves • Experience with database management and Microsoft Office Suite software systems. • Familiarity with Creative Curriculum and NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development.
