About the position The Site Merchant is a business owner responsible for e-commerce financial performance through visual site organization, product uploading, customer site experience, and daily adjustments based on site analytics. This role will manage and be the leader for all site launches and promotional changes. The Site Merchant will also use merchandise reporting to develop an in-depth understanding of online product performance and customer habits. Responsibilities • Review the site daily with customer-first mindset; reacting to current business & changing trends • Partner with Merchant and Creative teams to develop seasonal strategies including special shop concepts, page layouts, navigation and category content that supports brand initiatives and big ideas • Partner with Site Operations team to execute and oversee setup and proofing of bi-monthly site refreshes and product launches across mobile web, desktop web and mobile app • Analyze site launch performance to identify opportunities to increase sales and site conversion • Partner with Site Experience, Merchandising, Digital Engineering and UX teams to create new features that optimize the site experience, support key merchandising strategies, and increase conversion • Manage taxonomy and navigation of site, partnering with Merchandising team on big ideas and key categories as well as analyzing click data and top search terms to continuously improve customer experience • Own setup and proofing of all promotions • Partner with e-mail marketing team to ensure linking and product is easily findable to ensure best customer experience • Create and present quarterly hindsight for site; analyze site data including search terms, by category by week site KPIs looking for opportunities or patterns to provide recommendations for future strategies • Partners with SEO team on best practices and page management • Patterns other web sites, comparing product and functionality Requirements • 4+ years of experience in site merchandising • Self-starter with consistent work ethic • Strong process orientation and ability to understand system dependencies is a must • High taste level and creative lens with ability to creatively merchandise lines on the site • Extreme attention to detail • Strategic thinker with ability to analyze and synthesize information, conclusions and recommend actions • Ability to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships to drive results in a collaborative way • Lead and manage a team • Organized and autonomous in managing tasks to ensure deadlines are met • Comfortable shifting back and forth between tactical execution and strategic thinking Benefits • Eligible associates and family members receive medical, dental, prescription and vision insurance, family planning (fertility, adoption & surrogacy support), fitness discounts, medical travel and more. • Great associate discount across all of our brands (J.Crew, J.Crew Factory, and Madewell). • Flex Fridays - office closes at 1:00 PM every Friday year-round. • Support the communities through philanthropic efforts and the J.Crew Cares Program. • Winter break at the end of December for eligible full-time associates.
