Shopify SEO Specialist (Long-Term, Strategy + Execution)

Job Description (Optimized to Attract the Right People) Shopify SEO Specialist (Long-Term) We’re looking for an experienced Shopify SEO specialist to help grow organic traffic and revenue for an established ecommerce brand. This is a long-term role, not a one-off project. We already understand SEO and have clear priorities — we’re looking for someone who can own SEO execution inside Shopify, identify real opportunities, and consistently move the needle. You’ll be working directly with the founder/marketing lead. Strategy and direction are clear; we need an expert who can execute, optimize, and iterate without hand-holding. What You’ll Be Responsible For Phase 1: Audit & Core Optimization Audit existing Shopify SEO setup Optimize: Product pages (titles, meta, on-page content) Collection/category pages Internal linking structure Image alt tags Shopify-specific SEO settings and constraints Identify missed SEO opportunities unique to Shopify Phase 2: Existing Content Optimization Review and improve existing blog content Update posts for: Keyword targeting Search intent On-page optimization Internal linking Phase 3: Ongoing Content & Growth Keyword research (commercial + informational) Propose an SEO/content roadmap (we’ll review and approve direction) Write or outline SEO content (scope dependent) Ensure content is: Published correctly in Shopify Internally linked Submitted and indexed via Google Search Console Monitor performance and iterate based on results What You Must Be Good At Shopify SEO (this is not a WordPress-focused role) Working directly inside Shopify admin: Products Collections Tags URLs Understanding Shopify’s SEO limitations and how to work around them Keyword research and prioritization On-page SEO that supports ecommerce revenue (not just traffic) Google Search Console Tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Surfer, or similar Clear written English communication You do not need to be a developer, but you must be technically competent enough to identify issues and opportunities inside Shopify. How We Work Strategy and priorities come from us You own SEO execution and recommendations We have a Shopify VA/developer available for publishing or technical changes if needed Clear communication, no micromanagement This role will start at 5–10 hours per week and can grow over time if it’s a great fit. This Role Is a Good Fit If You: Have real experience growing organic traffic on Shopify stores Prefer long-term partnerships over short gigs Think strategically, not just task-by-task Are comfortable owning SEO from research → execution → iteration Strong, fluent written English is required. You’ll be writing and editing SEO content directly. This Role Is NOT a Good Fit If You: Only write blog posts without understanding ecommerce SEO Don’t have hands-on Shopify experience Rely solely on checklists without prioritization Are looking for a quick, short-term project Budget Hourly rate: $50–$75/hour, depending on experience.
