Job Title: Senior AI EngineerJob Location: Remote, prefer the candidate is in Springfield, VA, Littleton, CO or Spring Lake, NCTravel Requirement: Up to 25%Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance requiredCitizenship: US Citizenship required We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior AI Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in algorithm development, coding, data modeling, and data architecture, with a passion for applying innovative data science techniques to solve complex defense-related problems. As a Senior AI Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced AI and machine learning applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, integrating AI/ML into our current products and providing guidance and direction to junior AI Engineers to optimize business processes and drive innovation. Responsibilities:Design and Development: Lead the design and development of full-stack machine learning and generative AI applications tailored to meet business needs.Collaboration: Work closely with domain experts to translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.Prototyping: Develop prototypes to assess technology readiness and guide the scaling of promising solutions into production-ready applications.Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members, fostering a collaborative environment.Model Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize machine learning models and algorithms to improve performance and accuracy.Integration: Collaborate with ai engineers, data scientists, software developers, ux/ui and product managers to integrate AI solutions into existing products and develop new features.Design and optimize data architecture and infrastructure to support efficient data storage, processing, and analysis.Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data science, machine learning, and defense technologyCommunicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear and compelling presentations and reports.
Requirements
Active Secret security clearance (interim OK)Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience (10+ years experience preferred)Experience with many types of AI/ML modeling methods and algorithms for solving practical problemsExpertise with DoD related domains, such as cybersecurity, intelligence analysis, or military operationsProven experience in coding (Python, R, Go, Java, etc.) and software development, with a focus on data manipulation and analysisStrong background in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data visualization techniquesExperience with data architecture, database design, and data warehousing conceptsExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teamsSelf-starter with the ability to work autonomously with just the right amount of guidanceAbout Sherpa 6: At Sherpa 6 we love to solve problems and provide the best solutions for our customers. Salary RangeThe proposed salary range is reflective across all Sherpa 6 locations, years of experience, and skill levels. Salary negotiations will be based on a host of factors including but not limited to your geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.
