Job Title: Data EngineerJob Location: Remote, prefer the candidate is in Springfield, VA, Littleton, CO or Spring Lake, NCTravel Requirement: Up to 25%Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance required (interim OK)Citizenship: US Citizenship required We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data pipelines, data collection, data management, research and development, performance optimization and data quality assurance. As an AI Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure for data collection, storage, processing, and ensuring data accessibility and quality for analysis.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and implement data science solutions to address defense-related challengesUtilize advanced coding skills to manipulate, analyze, and visualize large and complex datasetsDesign and Build Data Pipelines: Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines that efficiently collect, transform, and store data from various sources.Data Management: Create and manage data management systems, ensuring they meet business requirements and industry standards.Data Quality Assurance: Implement processes to validate and clean data, ensuring its accuracy and reliability for analysis.Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide the necessary infrastructure and tools.Performance Optimization: Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to enhance performance and efficiency in data access and analysis.Research and Development: Explore new data acquisition opportunities and technologies to improve data management and analytics capabilities.Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data science, machine learning, and defense technologyCommunicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear and compelling presentations and reports
Requirements
Active Secret security clearance Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (Masters Degree preferred)Minimum of 2-5 years of experienceStrong knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, Go or Scala, and experience with SQL for database management.Familiarity with big data tools and frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.Experience with data warehousing solutions and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address data-related challenges and improve data processes.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teamsSelf-starter with the ability to work autonomously with just the right amount of guidanceAbout Sherpa 6: At Sherpa 6 we love to solve problems and provide the best solutions for our customers.
