The ideal candidate will have a strong background in algorithm development, coding, data modeling, and data architecture, with a passion for applying innovative data science techniques to solve complex defense-related problems. As a Data Scientist Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven solutions, analyzing large datasets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive decision-making and optimize processes.Responsibilities:Apply AI/ML modeling techniques in solving many types of problemsDevelop and design algorithmic solutions for automation projectsDesign, develop, and implement data science solutions to address defense-related challengesUtilize advanced coding skills to manipulate, analyze, and visualize large and complex datasetsDevelop and deploy machine learning models and algorithms to extract insights and make predictionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements, gather relevant data, and define project objectivesDesign and optimize data architecture and infrastructure to support efficient data storage, processing, and analysisStay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data science, machine learning, and defense technologyCommunicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear and compelling presentations and reports
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (Masters Degree preferred)Minimum of 5 years of experience (10+ years experience preferred)Experience with many types of AI/ML modeling methods and algorithms for solving practical problemsExpertise with DoD related domains, such as cybersecurity, intelligence analysis, or military operationsProven experience in coding (Python, R, Java, etc.) and software development, with a focus on data manipulation and analysisStrong background in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data visualization techniquesExperience with data architecture, database design, and data warehousing conceptsExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teamsSelf-starter with the ability to work autonomously with just the right amount of guidanceAbout Sherpa 6: At Sherpa 6 we love to solve problems and provide the best solutions for our customers. Salary RangeThe proposed salary range is reflective across all Sherpa 6 locations, years of experience, and skill levels. Salary negotiations will be based on a host of factors including but not limited to your geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.
