ServiceNow Developer for Information Technology

UTHealth Houston is seeking a skilled and motivated ServiceNow Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ServiceNow development and a passion for creating efficient and effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications and services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform integrations and automate processes using ServiceNow capabilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ServiceNow applications.
• Maintain and enhance existing ServiceNow applications.
• Stay updated with the latest ServiceNow features and best practices.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a ServiceNow Developer.
• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow modules, including ITSM and HRSD.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other web technologies.
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and integrations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Certification in ServiceNow is required for this role, and all candidates should have at least a year of experience supporting this program.

This role will be a combination of on-site and remote, depending on business needs and issues to resolve. It is a position that is eligible for all of UTHealth Houston's benefits, including medical care coverage and a pension plan run by the State of Texas. This role currently does not allow us to sponsor candidates requiring H1B visas. Applicants should also either reside in or plan to relocate to the state of Texas. This may require someone to work a blend of on-site and remote duties.

Position Summary:

Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ServiceNow applications and solutions to support UTHealth Houston business processes.

Position Key Accountabilities:
• Design, develop, and customize ServiceNow applications, modules, workflows, and forms.
• Integrate ServiceNow with external systems and applications using web services and APIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand business needs.
• Utilize data import techniques and processes specifically related to Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Procurement modules.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented coding using JavaScript, SQL, Angular, REST, XML, and other relevant technologies.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure the quality and stability of developed applications.
• Work closely with senior developers to implement best practices and adhere to coding standards.
• Assist in the configuration and administration of the ServiceNow platform.
• Participate in the evaluation and adoption of ServiceNow features and functionalities.
• Collaborate with end-users to provide support, resolve issues, and enhance existing applications.
• Maintain and update technical documentation related to development activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

ServiceNow Certified Application Developer required.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator preferred.

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's Degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

One (1) year of related experience.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
