Service Sales Engineer - Southeast

Responsibilities / Tasks

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sales Engineer has the responsibility to promote and secure the sale of spare parts, repairs, field service, equipment upgrades /modernizations and service level agreements for FHT NAM Service business. S/he is responsible for implementation of the group-wide sales strategy, ensures a coordinated customer approach, with counterparts in Customer Support, Field Service and Engineering. The Sales Engineer must live in the Southeast Territory.

The tasks and responsibilities for the role include:
• Work with the Service Sales Manager FHT - NAM and other business areas to fine-tune and implement service sales strategy for area of responsibility.
• Lead service sales activities, for area of responsibility (territory) and prioritize initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for service sales.
• Actively manage key customer accounts in the assigned territory. Act as the complete contact for the account.
• Travel to the customer for visits that shall include necessary presentations/demonstrations as required to enhance the sales opportunity and promote GEA.
• In addition, verify and keep current the Ibase for that location.
• Be responsible for large project spare parts / repair orders / modernizations – provide quotes, follow up and ensure the sale is executed in a timely manner.
• Develop the correct sales contacts at each customer location.
• Participate in trade shows promoting equipment service sales activity along with new equipment sales.
• Provide market feedback (competition, trends, etc.) to the Director of Service Sales FHT – NAM and regionally responsible service management.
• Utilize all available GEA resources to generate sales — new equipment salespersons, field service technicians, customer support representatives, procurement, etc.

Your Profile / Qualifications

Communication requirements for the role:
• Internal customers: Employees, Service Sales Manager FHT - NAM, regionally responsible service management.
• External customers: customers, industry associations, consultants, agents, dealers.
• Must have excellent written and verbal skills, especially face to face meetings to convey, convince and negotiate service sales.

Experience
• Requires a minimum of 5 years of territory sales experience. A plus if in the industry.
• Familiarity with concept of service offerings and local market requirements of different customer groups a plus.
• Excellent communicator, written and verbal, able to work with individuals (internal and external) across a wide range of levels, functions, brands and cultures.
• Capable of implementing strategic service sales plan.
• Ability to travel up to 60% of time; some international travel may be required.
• The sales engineer MUST live in the Southeast territory.
