Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT / Colorado Springs, CO / or Huntsville, AL and supports the Sentinel program.

What You'll Get To Do:

Selected candidate will be responsible for the architecture, development, and delivery of multiple assembly and test fixture engineering design solutions. This role provides the opportunity to be a technical expert, take ownership of the Special Test Equipment (STE) statement of work from concept design to product delivery, and to be one of the recognized Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) within the team for mechanical assemblies and fixtures. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Pro-actively communicate across teams to negotiate interface requirements
• Provide support to Manufacturing, Procurement, Lab Integration and Test

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline with 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM. discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in STEM with 4 years of related engineering experience.
• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access.
• Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
• Experience with stress and structural analysis.
• Experience with LRU fabrication and installation processes with hands-on experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• A current active in-scope DoD Top Secret security clearance
• Expert level proficiency with design tools such as NX, CPLM, AutoCAD, or Microsoft Visio
• Prior experience in coordinating with multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) within a dynamic program environment
• Experience with preparing and presenting oral and written reports
• Familiarity with PM&P requirements per Aerospace TOR-2006(8583)-5235 / -5236
• Experience with DoD architectures and Industry/Military Standards (e.g. MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-331, MIL-STD-1901A and Mil-STD-461)

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
