You’ll work alongside a small, talented group of engineers and designers to craft the Medal experience on iOS—from real-time editing tools to content discovery and notifications. You’ll help shape our mobile architecture, influence product direction, and work on experiences that are seen by millions of gamers.If you love shipping polished mobile experiences, obsess over user interaction, and want to work on a product that lives at the intersection of social and gaming, this is for you.You WillOwn major parts of the iOS codebase and contribute to architecture decisionsBuild features used by millions of gamers, from sharing workflows to profile pages and chatCollaborate cross-functionally with design, backend, and product to ship fast without sacrificing qualityAdvocate for user experience, performance, and accessibilityHelp mentor junior engineers and uphold a high bar for code quality and engineering cultureStay on top of iOS best practices and help us keep the tech stack modern and efficientWork on-site at our NYC office 5 days a weekYou Need5+ years of experience shipping iOS appsSwift, UIKit, SwiftUI, and Foundation knowledgeSwift Concurrency and Reactive programming experienceExperience working on complex real-time apps, video/media-heavy workflows, or social applicationsObsession with quality of code and interfacesInterest in product and taking ownership of broad product areas (likes to run experiments, talk to users, and use the product avidly)Practiced at using analytics, testing, user feedback, bug, and crash reports to inform app developmentExperience using REST APIs and working with backend teams to accomplish product goalsA love for gaming, however you define it!You read and write well and can communicate and collaborate both synchronously and asynchronouslyBonus PointsCan develop on both Android and iOSHistory as a Medal user – if so, be sure to share a clip or your profile belowExperience with other Apple technologies - Objective-C, iPadOS, macOS, etc.Experience working with video on mobile (performance, encoding, AVFoundation etc.) a plusMaintenance of CI systems – Xcode Cloud is a plusiOS StackSwift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Swift Concurrency, Combine, Xcode Cloud, Postman, Figma, LinearWhy Join UsAt Medal, you’ll have the autonomy to make an impact from Day 1.
