LocationRemote (UK Residents Only) Please note we are only accepting applications from within the UK due to being flexible to travel to work events/socialsPlease note this role is initially offered on a fixed-term basis, with the potential to be extended or considered for a permanent position depending on business needs and performance.About the CompanyFusebox Games are looking for a passionate and talented Senior Writer to join our narrative team to work on both existing and new original games and interactive stories. This is a management role within the narrative team, where you will not only contribute creatively but also manage and develop a small team of 2–3 writers/story associates. This is a remote role, however you must be based in the UK to apply.About the RoleThis is a management role within the narrative team, where you will not only contribute creatively but also manage and develop a small team of 2–3 writers/story associates.ResponsibilitiesLine manage, support, and develop a team of 2–3 writers and/or story associates, providing regular feedback, coaching, and performance supportAct as a creative and people leader, setting clear direction and maintaining high standards across the teamDevelop concepts and stories for both original and IP interactive contentWork closely with our Project Lead Writer and the Writing team to invent worlds, stories, and charactersEnsure all written material and produced content meets Fusebox Studio’s Interactive Fiction Narrative Best PracticesAttend and lead writers’ rooms and creative workshopsPitch story arcs for various original and IP propertiesHelp to skilfully manage and steer IP holder relationshipsPlot and structure episodes and scripts (including dynamic and premium choices) with high levels of autonomyReview and edit scripts and outlines with high attention to detailOversee volumes of scripts to ensure all content meets quality standardsActively contribute to feedback, reviews, and idea generation sessionsProactively and autonomously raise and address any quality or performance issuesWrite compelling dialogue for an ensemble cast of charactersDraft and revise outlines and scripts to deadline, providing clear and constructive feedbackLead meetings with other departments to ensure projects stay on trackRewrite scripts to tight deadlines to ensure they meet or exceed quality expectationsPlaytest story chapters and provide feedback and iterationCollaborate with writers, artists, and wider teams across FuseboxTake on project leadership alongside other senior team members Requirements:Proven experience managing people (ideally small creative teams)Extensive writing experience on mobile games or within the games industryStrong understanding of choice structure and interactive fiction best practicesEnthusiasm for collaboration and for giving and receiving feedbackAbility to be creative, flexible, and solution-focused in a fast-moving environmentAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyA desire to be both a creative leader and a team playerKnowledge of Love Island and other Fusebox titlesPassion for storytelling and interactive fictionExcellent ear for dialogue and strong understanding of tone and pacingA drive to deliver high-quality work and contribute beyond your core roleScripted writing samples
