Both are equally important.What you’ll doThis role will initially lean heavily towards backend development.Work alongside a team to ship new features on Knot’s merchant connectivity platform, thereby setting a strong foundation to support the launch and growth of new productsIdentify, scope, and lead large technical projects, laying the groundwork for nascent products to iteratively evolve and scale, and taming complexity and shoring up reliability of existing systemsArchitect new and novel merchant integrations in Typescript and Python, finding creative ways to solve never-seen-before problemsContribute to the API and other services in Laravel/PHP & Golang, as well as infrastructure where neededImprove engineering standards, tooling, and processesFoster a culture of deep care for technical foundations that support industry-leading reliability and scalability.What you’ll need to get the job done5+ years of fullstack engineering experience.Proficiency in Node/Typescript, Python, CloudSQL (or similar relational database).Track record of shipping high-quality products at scale.You excel in a rapidly growing organization and embrace challenging problems, tackling them directly and taking the initiative to lead the solution.Eagerness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and constantly grow & develop your craft.Expert communication and ability to collaborate seamlessly with product teams.Experience with Laravel/PHP, Golang, and/or infrastructure is a strong plus.TechReact-query for API callsTypescript/Node and Python in the backendCloudSQL & RedisHosted on Google Cloud Functions and KubernetesGithub, Linear, Slack, NotionWhat we offerInteresting and challenging workCompetitive base salary (commensurate with experience) + generous early employee equity + benefits100% medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage for you and your dependents (U.S.)Unlimited PTOParental leaveBeautiful NYC office in the heart of Flatiron
