Senior Staff Software Engineer, Backend - Platform

We’re looking to hire Senior Staff Software Engineers to join our Platform Product Group. The Platform Product Group’s mission is to build a trusted, scalable, and compliant platform to maximize velocity, efficiency and quality. They build the foundations that can be used by multiple products and teams at Coinbase so that users can have a consistent and high-quality experience. What you’ll be doing:Architect and developdistributed systemsProvide technical structure to teams and work closely with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmapsManage individual projects priorities, deadlines and deliverables with your technical expertiseMentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standardsDesign and implement foundational infrastructure components used by every engineering team in production (e.g. dynamic configuration, secrets storage, container orchestration, etc)Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customersWhat we look for in you:12+ years of experience in software engineeringYou’ve experienced architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impactYou’re passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together Nice to haves:You have gone through a rapid growth in your company (from 10 to 100s of engineers)You have experience decomposing a large monolith into microservicesYou’ve worked with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, PostgresYou’ve built financial, high reliability or security systemsJob #: GPBE07USPay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below.
