DescriptionThe Senior Software Engineer codes software applications based on business requirements. The Senior Software Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.ResponsibilitiesLocation - Forum III - 305 N Hurstbourne Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222The Senior Software Engineer for Humana Government Business will plan, analyze, design, develop, test, and implement information systems of high complexity within framework of the Humana Military systems architecture to support the company's objectives in the most effective, efficient, and economical manner.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, program, test, implement and support information systems within the framework of the HGB systems architecture to support the company's objectives in the most effective, efficient, and economical manner.Ability to multitask across multiple technologies preferred - including web, client server, and vendor supplied software.Accountable for understanding the business needs of the organization and translating those needs into technological systems designs specifications and solutions.Contribute significantly to systems analysis and design efforts with the responsibility for tasks associated with the initiation, definition, and specification of information systems. Document development materials in accordance with Humana Military standards. Prepare user documentation as directed.Write, update and test programs for Microsoft Windows based applications and submit code and object changes for turns in accordance with Humana Military standards. Prepare and execute systems test plans and assist end users with acceptance testing as needed.Plan system installation and conversion support and prepare all necessary system, operations and turnover documentation as directed by Systems Manager or Director in accordance with Humana Military standards.Develop enhancements, resolve issues, correct problems, make minor modifications, and coordinate testing of releases and oversee regular production efforts including data extracts, customizations and monitoring.Provide on call support as requested for various applications systems.Required QualificationsOur Department of Defense contract requires U.S. citizenship for this positionSuccessfully receive interim approval for government security clearance (eQIP - electronic questionnaire for investigation processing)Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field4 years of experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications and/or infrastructure3 years of experience working with Hyland OnBase or similar document management system.Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiencesPreferred QualificationsMaster's DegreeAdditional informationSchedule: Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Overtime and weekend work required to support production implementation or on-call issues.Training: The associate will receive On-the job training and occasionally be asked to attend vendor-conducted training classes. For the foreseeable future, these will all be conducted virtually (Due to Covid-19 emergency).Work Location: Work AT Home Nationwide and/or from a Humana office (Forum III) located at: 305 N Hurstbourne Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222.% Travel: 5%, but none while company is restricting travel due to Covid-19 emergency.Government Background Investigation - eQIP Process: If offered a position with Humana Government Business you may be required to go through the eQIP process to obtain Government Security Clearance to work on government systems. This requires the completion of a 100 page document on-line, finger printing, background check, credit check and, completion of an employment application and drug test. The financial/credit check portion requires an in depth review of any failure to meet financial obligations within the past 7 years, including but not limited to bankruptcy, debt over 120 days delinquent and/or $15,000 threshold for bad debt (items in collection and charge off).Scheduled Weekly Hours40
