Senior Software Development Manager, Related Products Management

We are looking for a Senior Software Development Manager who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys solving complex business problems that have massive global impact. You will build the core software that enables selling partners and teams across Amazon to manage and infer high quality product relationships that drive customer experiences in search results and product detail pages. You will own technical strategy and delivery of Amazon's key new and emerging customer experiences like customizable pizza's at Whole Foods and make-on-demand products like customizable t-shirts. Your breadth of impact is large - you will directly influence how sellers and vendors list their products with Amazon's catalog, how our shopping customers discover the products, and how products make it through Amazon's fulfillment centers efficiently.

You will take on interesting challenges everyday. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that's higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems. You will need to be comfortable in leading design reviews and representing your team and business to other parts of Amazon. You will need to design keeping both short-term and long-term mind. You will need to make high judgement calls around reuse vs rebuild. You will need to be comfortable pushing back and challenging the status-quo.

The ideal candidate will be a leader who is a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will have excellent business, technical, analytical and strategic thinking skills. You are effectively able to work with business and technology leaders to define and prioritize key business and customer problems.

Key job responsibilities

As a Sr SDM you will:
? Establish and execute short and long-term roadmaps for the business
? Lead and grow a set of teams to deliver customer impacting features
? Build scalable and efficient software to manage related products
? Work creatively through and around perceived limitations and/or challenges imposed by the delivery platform to enable delightful experiences for customers.
? Effectively present work to all levels of the leadership.
? Be an effective collaborator in a cross functional team of , Managers, Engineers, Applied Scientists, Technical Program Managers, and Product Managers.
? Drive continual improvements to the efficiency and flexibility of the business platform while keeping an extremely high bar customer trust, performance, and availability.

These services enable millions of sellers and vendors, manage billions of products on Amazon's online marketplaces and physical stores worldwide in real-time. Using highly scalable micro-services, innovative new data models, unique big data solutions, and advanced machine learning algorithms, we produce a world class shopping experience for our customers worldwide, in a language of their choice. Along the way, we make AWS better by contributing features.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
? 5 years of engineering team management experience
? Experience partnering with product or program management teams
? Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
? Experience managing people and business operations end-to-end as a remote site leader.
