As a Senior Social Media Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and curating content that resonates with this audience, while also expanding ESPN's overall reach and engagement across social media platforms. Key Responsibilities Content Creation and Curation : Ideate, create, and post high-quality content (visual, video, text) that is optimized for social platforms, including Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, and Snapchat. Content Planning and Management : Manage content planning for various sports and events, assigning work to select peers and social designers. Collaboration and Partnership : Collaborate with internal partners to make social content compelling to a broad audience. Content Review and Approval : Edit and approve social posts in real-time for journalistic accuracy, relevance, and tone. Social Media Trends and Best Practices : Maintain proficiency in social media trends and best practices, staying up-to-date on the latest developments and innovations. Performance Analysis and Insights : Analyze performance of social content, incorporating and sharing insights with the team regularly. User-Generated Content and Engagement : Actively explore user-generated content opportunities to tap into new trends and reach new audiences. Account Growth and Engagement : Generate new ideas for building account engagement and growth across all platforms and accounts, with a special emphasis on the espnW brand. Essential Qualifications Minimum 3 Years of Experience : A minimum of 3 years' experience working in a fast-paced social media environment with content creation responsibilities or relevant experience. Video and Photo Editing Software : A minimum of 2 years' experience using video editing software (e.g., Final Cut, Premiere) and photo editing software (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign). Understanding of Women's Sports Fans : Understands how to connect with and grow an audience of women's sports fans across all sports, taking into account elements like voice and representation that are uniquely important to female fans and athletes. Social Media Comprehension and Execution : Skilled in social media comprehension and execution across multiple social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, and Snapchat. Excellent Communication Skills : Possess excellent news judgment and verbal/written communication skills. Journalistic Standards : Strong understanding of journalistic standards. Ability to Work Under Pressure : Ability to work quickly and juggle multiple tasks during a typical workday. Data Analysis and Application : Ability to analyze and apply data to decision-making. Knowledge of Popular Culture : Appreciation and understanding of popular culture that contributes to an understanding of the tastes of ESPN's social media followers. Knowledge of Current Sports : Knowledge of current sports, including teams, players, storylines, and forward-facing media personnel. Preferred Qualifications Previous Brand Voice and Account Launch Management : Previous experience managing brand voice and account launches. Motion Graphics or Visual Effects Software : Experience using motion graphics or visual effects software (e.g., After Effects). Advanced Knowledge of Social Media and Tech Trends : Advanced knowledge of the latest social media and tech trends. Education Required Education : High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education : Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Journalism, Communications, Media, or a related field. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $81,918 to $109,890 per year, and in Los Angeles, CA is $78,146 to $104,830 per year, based on a 40-hour work week. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
