Senior Snowflake Data Engineer / Snowflake Performance Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Snowflake Data Engineer with deep expertise in query optimization, performance tuning, and migration of legacy T-SQL–based solutions into Snowflake. This role focuses on modernizing data workloads, improving cost and performance efficiency, and guiding teams through Snowflake best practices. Experience with Matillion for ELT orchestration is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities: - Optimize Snowflake queries for performance, concurrency, and cost - Refactor inefficient T-SQL patterns into Snowflake-native designs - Tune warehouse sizing, multi-cluster usage, and workload isolation - Lead SQL Server / T-SQL to Snowflake migrations - Design and optimize ELT pipelines using Snowflake-native patterns - Build and maintain data transformations using dbt - Develop and orchestrate data pipelines using Matillion - Establish query standards, performance guidelines, and migration playbooks - Partner with application, analytics, and product teams on data access patterns Required Qualifications: - 5+ years of data engineering or analytics engineering experience - 2+ years of hands-on Snowflake production experience - Strong SQL Server / T-SQL background - Proven experience migrating workloads from SQL Server to Snowflake - Deep understanding of set-based SQL and query optimization Preferred / Nice-to-Have: - Strong experience with Matillion (Snowflake integrations preferred) - dbt (Core or Cloud) - Snowpark (Python or SQL) - Experience with large-scale datasets (100M+ rows) - Cloud experience (AWS or GCP) - SaaS and multi-tenant data models Apply tot his job
