Job Summary We are seeking an innovative Senior Site Reliability Engineer with experience managing physical infrastructure and cloud solutions to join our Apple Services Engineering team. In this role, you will collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand requirements, design and implement resilient and scalable reliability solutions, and play a vital role in incident response to diagnose and resolve problems, minimizing outages and downtime in a high-pressure and large-scale environment. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design reliable solutions Design, build, and maintain core infrastructure to support Apple Services, including the App Store, Apple Music, Books, and Podcasts Develop and implement automation to provision, configure, deploy, and monitor infrastructure components Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve system reliability, security, and performance Play a vital role in incident response, diagnosing and resolving problems to minimize outages and downtime Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, using strong programming skills in Python and/or Go Manage and deploy infrastructure using config management tools like Puppet, Ansible, or Chef Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: 10+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, or a DevOps-focused role A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical background involving software/system engineering, or related work experience Strong programming skills in Python and/or Go In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix Experience deploying and managing infrastructure using config management tools like Puppet, Ansible, or Chef Troubleshooting and debugging experience Previous networking experience Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following skills and experiences are highly desirable: Ability to autonomously manage cross-functional projects, communicate expectations, set timelines, and drive to completion Experience supporting data center operations, distributed systems, and production services Experience with Kubernetes and virtualization Experience with Docker Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Strong technical skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results Strong attention to detail, with a focus on ensuring the reliability and security of our systems Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Apple, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
