Senior Site Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Site Engineer who can work cross-functionally with multiple Implementation Teams including our Feature, Platform, and Operations teams to solve problems and improve our products and services. This role will need to view our platform holistically and work towards ensuring it is scalable, reliable, observable, and extendable. We expect you to have strong knowledge of IaC, Networking, and managing Operations of self-hosted infrastructure at a co-located data center. As a Senior Site Engineer, you will work closely with Sertifi’s Development, Platform and Infrastructure Teams to create automated systems that build, deploy, and manage our applications and their associated platforms. This position will report to our Senior Manager, Operations.Candidates must be based in the United States, in Chicago, or within a Sertifi approved state for remote work: AZ, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WI Throughout the interview and onboarding process, Sertifi also reserves the right to conduct independent reference checks to verify past experience and performance in addition to our standard background check and onboarding procedures. Total compensation for this role is subject to, and will be determined by skill, level of overall experience, past experience within SaaS or within the hospitality and travel industry, and through our interview process. Sertifi has a standardized budget for this role with a target range between $140k-160k base salary.Challenges You’ll Tackle: Serve as team Subject Matter Expert in Operations and Networking. Maintain and optimize physical On-Premise infrastructure and network hosted at a co-located data center, while supporting a migration to cloud Provide guidance and mentorship, elevating the understanding and technical depth to other Site Engineering team members. Improve automation of software releases, including evaluation of deploy patterns and processes to minimize issues in production environment Always looking for ways to improve / automate existing processes Participate in the system team’s on-call rotation for production outages What You’ll Need to Succeed: Deep experience with CI/CD services like TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, Github Actions Deep Experience in On-Premise Datacenter management, including compute, storage, networking, and security. Experience with Windows Server Administration, including Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, with an ability to ensure high availability, secure configurations, and efficient server management in the datacenter Demonstrated ability to systematically troubleshoot and lead an incident response team Experience with automation tools and configuration-as-code (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Vagrant, etc.) Experience with Tailscale Experience with IaC (Terraform, Bicep etc) Strong understanding and experience in Release Management Experience utilizing containers in CI/CD Experience with cloud services (preferably AWS) Nice to haves: Experience with Github Actions and YAML Configs Experience with cloud IaC platforms like Terraform Cloud or Spacelift Any related cloud or vendor certifications Experience with Liquibase and respective pipelines Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
