Senior Shopify Plus Operations Specialist (Listings Approval, Data Management & Google Sheets) - Contract to Hire

We are seeking a senior, highly detail-oriented professional to support our Shopify Plus store operations, with a primary focus on product listing approvals, data accuracy, and advanced Google Sheets management. This role is not for beginners or generic virtual assistants. We’re looking for someone with deep experience in Shopify Plus, data-heavy operations, and strong ownership of workflows. The engagement will begin with a one-month paid trial, with the intention to transition into a long-term collaboration based on performance. Key Responsibilities: Shopify Plus (Core Focus): Review, approve, and audit product listings before publication Ensure listings meet internal standards for: Titles, descriptions, tags, collections Variants, pricing, SKUs, barcodes Images, metafields, and metadata Identify and correct listing errors, inconsistencies, or compliance issues Execute bulk updates via CSVs and structured data imports Work closely with internal stakeholders to improve listing SOPs and workflows Google Sheets & Data Management: Manage and maintain complex Google Sheets used for: Product formulation data SKU and variant mapping Inventory and operational tracking: Build and optimize formulas (XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, ARRAYFORMULA, QUERY, IF logic, etc.) Ensure data accuracy, cleanliness, and consistency across systems Perform data validation, cleanup, and structured reporting Miscellaneous & Cross-Functional Tasks: Support operational tasks tied to product, data, and store performance Document processes and suggest efficiency improvements Communicate clearly on risks, errors, or improvement opportunities Required Experience & Skills: 5+ years of hands-on experience with Shopify / Shopify Plus Proven experience managing large product catalogs Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and data management Strong understanding of eCommerce listing best practices High attention to detail and operational accuracy Comfortable working independently and taking ownership Nice to Have (Strong Plus): Shopify development experience (themes, Liquid, apps, customizations) CRO experience (conversion optimization, UX improvements, A/B testing insights) Experience working alongside dev, growth, or performance teams SOP creation and process optimization background Engagement Details: Contract Type: Long-term (starting with a 1-month paid trial) Hours: 15 hours/week Start: Immediate preferred How to Apply Please include: Your Shopify Plus experience (years, store size, catalog scale) Examples of Google Sheets systems or formulas you’ve built Experience with listing approvals, audits, or data governance Any development or CRO experience (if applicable) Your availability and hourly rate Only senior-level candidates with relevant experience will be considered.
