Job description: The Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, competent, and self-motivated Scientist with a strong background in molecular biology and genome editing to join our Gene Editing team to help expand our off-target platform.
Here's What You'll Do:
ā¢ Lead, design, implement, and troubleshoot experiments to develop and improve iPSC-based platform to facilitate advancements in genome editing technology
ā¢ Perform routine cell culture, including somatic cell reprogramming, human iPSC expansion, cell banking and differentiation.
ā¢ Execute cell-based and molecular biology assays
ā¢ Maintain and organize lab records and relevant documentation in paper or electronic format
ā¢ Compile experimental data and present scientific results at team research meetings
ā¢ Author relevant documents, such as protocols, SOPs, etc.
ā¢ Contribute to publications and patent applications
ā¢ Collaborate closely with Computational Biology group and Cell Biology Group
ā¢ Assist coordination of research associates and day-to-day laboratory operations
Requirements:
ā¢ PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience or a related field with significant training and research experience with iPSC biology and genome editing technologies, with 5+ years of experience
ā¢ Experience with iPSC expansion, cell banking and differentiation, transdifferentiation, transfection, transduction, and genome editing
ā¢ Experience with cell-based and ligand-based assays, such as cell proliferation, apoptosis, IF, and flow cytometry, ELISA, etc.
ā¢ Experience with molecular biology techniques, such as DNA/RNA extraction and purification, PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, cloning, western blot/WES, etc.
ā¢ Relevant technical skills for data analysis, DNA and protein sequence analysis, ELN documentation, and presenting results
ā¢ Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
ā¢ Exceptional oral and written communication skills
ā¢ Passion and ability to learn new concepts and skills
ā¢ Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
ā¢ Occasional weekend work is required
ā¢ Industry experience strongly preferred
