• Broad technical knowledge with the ability to quickly understand new technologies.

• Strong written, verbal, and negotiation skills.
• German language skills are a plus but not required.
• US citizenship or permanent residency is required.

InfraTec GmbH was founded in 1991 in Dresden, Germany, where our headquarters are still located. The privately held company (250+ employees, 50+ Mio. € revenue) develops, manufactures, and markets infrared (IR) sensors (Sensor Division) and IR systems (Thermography Division). We serve the international B2B market with industrial applications.

Since 2007, we have operated a successful US subsidiary (InfraTec infrared LLC), from which we manage the sales activities of both Divisions in the North American market (US and Canada).
The products of the Sensor Division(IR sensors, primarily pyroelectric IR detectors) are used by instrument and device manufacturers in the following typical applications:
• Medical and industrial gas analysis
• Flame and fire detection
• Radiometers and spectrometers
Sensor Division's American sales team currently consists of two Sales Managers reporting to a Lead Manager Sales from headquarters. Each sales manager is responsible for individual OEM key accounts as well as a higher double-digit number of medium and small customers.

Your mission

To meet growing customer demands, we need an additional (Senior) Sales Manager – IR Sensors to expand our sales force across North America. This is a remote/home-based role, and the position requires frequent travel (ca. 25% of working time) throughout North America.

A successful candidate will:
• Perform high-quality customer support and appropriate application support to existing and new OEM customers.
• Manage multi-year development projects with new OEM customers.
• Acquire new customers and qualify initial leads.
An ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter with:
• Sales experience in the electronic component industry.
• Relevant technical knowledge to support customer applications.
• An independent and proactive work approach
The role requires initial training session at InfraTec’s headquarters in Dresden, Germany (2-3 weeks).

Responsibilities
• Manage sales operations within an assigned North American territory and designated key accounts, working closely with the sales team based in Germany.
• Drive sales growth through increased market penetration of our infrared detector portfolio.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities, including converting initial lead contacts into active prospects.
• Support customers throughout the development process by discussing application requirements, clarifying technical and commercial needs, and coordinating production and delivery schedules.
• Provide high-quality technical and commercial support to existing and new OEM customers, acting as a primary liaison between the overseas headquarters and the customer.
• Lead business development activities, which includes attending trade shows and conferences
• Conducting customer visits with professional support from the product management and development team at headquarters.
• Contribute to the development of annual and short-term business plans and sales forecasts, ensuring alignment with company goals and market conditions.
• Analyze account performance, market trends, and customer developments to identify opportunities, risks, and potential improvement.
