The FBA Science team is dedicated to building scientific capabilities that enable the effective management of Amazon's supply chain and fulfillment resources. We're seeking a highly skilled and diverse individual to join our team, with expertise in operations research, machine learning, economics, statistics, data analytics, and management science. As a Senior Research Scientist - Amazon Scholar, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing science solutions that drive business growth and success.

Job Description
The FBA Science team is responsible for building scientific capabilities to manage Amazon's supply chain and fulfillment resources effectively. Our team is organized around key work streams, including capacity management, inventory network management, forecasting and analytics, system and policy performance, seller recommendations and assistance, seller experience, and inventory defects and reimbursements. We're looking for a talented individual to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that drive business success.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead technical research projects with multiple stakeholders, applying expertise in operations research, machine learning, economics, statistics, data analytics, and management science.
Develop and implement science solutions that drive business growth and success, considering the interdependency of end-to-end FBA systems, products, and policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including SCOT, AFT, and DEX systems, to ensure solutions are integrated and effective.
Conduct research and analysis, applying knowledge from various disciplines to solve complex problems.
Communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, building consensus and driving business decisions.

Basic Qualifications:

PhD in a relevant field or related discipline.
5+ years of relevant work or academic experience.
Experience leading technical research projects with multiple stakeholders.
Current affiliation with an academic or research institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recognized expert in an applied science discipline, with a strong track record of publications in top-tier, peer-reviewed conferences and/or journals.
Broad knowledge of applied mathematics and foundational understanding of algorithms and computational complexity.
Expert-level research analysis and technical leadership capabilities.
Exceptional verbal and written communication and consensus-building skills.
