Established in 1841, is the oldest Catholic and Jesuit university in the northeastern United States and the third-oldest university in New York State.Job SummaryThis role involves building and maintaining scalable data models, efficient data pipelines, and dynamic reports within Azure and Power BI. Candidates with student information system (SIS) experience and expertise in higher education reporting will be highly preferred. The Power BI Developer will ensure data accuracy, usability, and performance to support data-driven decision-making across the university.Responsibilities Develop and maintain Azure and Power BI analytics data models to support institutional reporting and insights.Create, extend, and enhance data models, SQL queries, reports, and dashboards to meet user needs.Optimize Power BI dataflows, datasets, and report performance using best practices in data modeling.Data Pipelines & ETL DevelopmentDesign and maintain data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from Ellucian Banner and other enterprise systems.Develop automated data transformation logic for reporting needs.Ensure seamless integration between on-premise and cloud-based data sources.Serve as the technical SME for data transformation logic, Power BI, and Azure analytics environments.+Utilize Agile project management methodologies to manage iterative development, testing, and deployment cycles.+Design and deploy end-to-end BI solutions from requirements gathering to production deployment.+Work with cross-functional teams to understand and translate reporting needs into actionable data solutions.Log work progress and track project tasks using ServiceNow Visual Task Board, Team Dynamix, or similar tools.Collaborate with institutional stakeholders to understand business needs, compliance requirements, and data governance best practices.Document technical processes, data models, and reporting solutions for ease of maintenance and knowledge sharing.Qualifications and Job Requirements5+ years of experience in Power BI development, data modeling, and visualization.Strong knowledge of SQL, DAX, Power Query (M language), and ETL tools.Experience working with Ellucian Banner data or other higher education SIS systems.Familiarity with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, or other cloud-based data platforms.Ability to optimize Power BI reports for performance and usability.Strong understanding of higher education data structures, including student enrollment, finance, HR, and academic records.Experience with agile methodologies and project tracking tools such as ServiceNow or Team Dynamix.What We Offer100% Remote Work: Enjoy the freedom to work from the location that helps you thrive.
