Senior Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy

Description

Preparation of IV admixtures via aseptic technique under the supervision of a pharmacist. Job responsibility consists of a minimum of 50% of preparation of cytotoxic agents such as chemotherapy, anti-neoplastics, biological and hormone agents including investigational research drugs. Proficient in regulatory 797 guidelines in the maintenance of the IV room. Must be diligent in record keeping of drug compounding and waste records and adherence to storage and disposal of all medical infusion pharmaceuticals and supplies.

Required qualifications:
• Coursework/Training: 40 hours of sterile pharmaceutical compounding education: - Through a 40 hour in house certification conducted by the Covenant Health System department of pharmacy (within 30 days of hire), or Completed by an American Council of Pharmaceutical Education approved course of study (Preferred)
• Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee upon hire or
• Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician License upon hire
• IV Certification with 40 hours of sterile pharmaceutical compounding education within 30 days of hire (if completed through in house certification conducted by the Covenant Health System department of pharmacy), or IV Certification with 40 hours of sterile pharmaceutical compounding education must be completed by an American Council of Pharmaceutical Education approved course of study (Preferred)
