Key Responsibilities
Develop central assets and tooling for identifying, measuring, or mitigating potential harms caused by generative AI systems.
Collaborate with Microsoft product groups who wish to be proactive about responsible AI, and contribute to or potentially drive research projects aimed at advancing the state-of-the-art.
Be a member of an interdisciplinary team of world specialists on the fairness of AI systems, working with partners from diverse backgrounds.
Screen research advances and draw on them to shape your applied science work.
Present your work to internal and external stakeholders, including Microsoft leadership.
Essential Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field AND 4+ years of related experience (e.g., statistical predictive analysis, research).
OR: Master's degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field AND 3+ years of related experience.
OR: Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field AND 1+ year of related experience.
Skills and Competencies
Experience working with large-scale language models and/or multimodal models.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in a general-purpose coding language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala, C#, or C/C++).
