About the position
The Senior Medical Coding Professional serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the clinical review team, focusing on outpatient and physician CPT coding. This role involves analyzing complex issues, confirming coding accuracy, and influencing departmental strategies. The position requires independent decision-making and the ability to handle moderately complex to complex tasks without direct supervision.
Responsibilities
Ā Reviewing provider escalations and responding the same day.

Ā Reviewing staff monthly QA review.

Ā Developing new review concepts.
,
Ā Daily inventory monitoring and assignment of escalated inventory.
,
Ā Research on guidelines- CMS, AAPC, etc.
,
Ā Training new coders.
,
Ā Responsible for updates to processes/resources/guidelines.
Requirements
Ā AAPC or AHIMA Coding Certification (CPC, RHIA, RHIT, CCS) with at least 4 years post-certification experience focused on outpatient surgical coding/auditing.

Ā Proven ability analyzing and solving complex issues.
,
Ā Comfortable working with minimal supervision and exercising latitude in decision making.
,
Ā Comprehensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
,
Ā Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
