About the Role: Vercel is looking for a Senior Manager, Accounting to develop and scale the accounting function to support the growth of the business. Reporting to the Controller, this role will be responsible for managing the GL team, accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, managing the accounting close, including reporting to internal and/ or external stakeholders. In addition, the role will partner with the Finance Systems and/ or the Engineering teams to identify and execute automation opportunities. The role will manage, mentor and coach a team of 4 accountants. This is a remote position which preferences candidate location to be aligned with Pacific US time zone. What You Will Do: • Play a critical role in the month-end financial statement close process by reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting on results to internal stakeholders • Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with GAAP principles • Manage, mentor and coach a team of 4 accountants • Partner with Finance Systems and/ or Engineering to identify and execute automation opportunities, including those related to SAAS revenue recognition • Partner with FP&A in developing financial models and scenarios for strategic decision-making • Collaborate with other departments to understand business operations and provide financial guidance • Continually develop, expand and improve month-end close and financial reporting procedures and help drive the reduction of the close timeline by assessing and streamlining close-related activities • Develop and maintain a strong internal control environment • Support special project work as needed, including identification and execution of continuous improvement projects and activities About You: • 7+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years at a Big 4 accounting firm and 2 years in industry. • Experience working in SaaS, foreign exchange and consolidations is a plus! • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance • CPA designation and strong knowledge of US GAAP • You’re passionate about building systems and processing improvements. You thrive in bringing process and organization to complex environments. • Ability to lead projects independently • Ability to communicate technical accounting concepts to a non-technical environment • Experience with NetSuite is a plus! The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $175,000.00 – $205,000.00. This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
