The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Senior Localization Engineer to support our customers and production team. The position of Senior Localization Engineer will report into the Team Lead, CQ Technical Requests and must have deep experience with a variety of translation projects encompassing all sorts of file formats and expert knowledge of tools such as Plunet, memoQ, Trados, website proxy solutions and various other types of project specific tools. More importantly this person has a ‘can do’ attitude and embraces the challenge of figuring out problems and is always the ‘go to’ person for solving complex project challenges. Must be able to work within EST business hours, approximately 10:00–11:00 AM to 6:00–7:00 PM EST. Your Impact Interface and consult with customers, project managers and salespeople to analyze customer requirements Identify solutions to address client needs Analyze project scope and suggest creative approaches to solutions Increase efficiencies and improve overall quality and ease of execution, while seeking to reduce scope and production costs Evaluate and prepare project deliverables (docs, websites, software, help and others) for translation following set quality standards. This process typically includes the use of CAT tools as well as writing instructions for project managers and translators Manage translation memories Administer Plunet and MemoQ Set up and administer projects on a Translation Proxy and Website Translation Platform Desktop support and other basic IT needs as needed Qualifications for Success Minimum of three years’ experience in localization with a strong knowledge of translation workflows Mastery skills in translation memory tools such as memoQ, Trados or other common CAT tools, is required Advanced knowledge of XML, HTML and XLIFF formats Experience with Plunet is ideal Experience with coding language (such as Javascript and Node.JS) is a big plus Ability to gain quick fluency on technologies used by clients in various industries Ability to trouble shoot technical issues Desire to drive process and efficiency improvements Clear, concise communication skills.
