This is an exciting hybrid opportunity to contribute to impactful technology initiatives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.Work location: Work shall be performed in a hybrid setting each week, Monday through Friday, with 2 days remote at a suitable off-site location (i.e. home office) and 3 days per week onsite at the client office in Annapolis, MD 21401. Additional on-site support may be required, and the Linux Administrator must be able to report on-site within 24 hours after notification.Job duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development, testing, and production environments.
Performing system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
Implementing automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, or Python to streamline system administration tasks.
Configuring and maintaining Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and other Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) ecosystem tools.
Collaborating with security teams to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with security policies.
Maintaining and optimizing storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
Supporting application teams by providing guidance on best practices for Linux-based deployments.
Maintaining documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Participating in on-call support and incident resolution activities as required.
Setup Network File Server (NFS) and mount points.
Configuring Chron jobs for both systems and applications.
The candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, or postgraduate degree, in engineering, computer science, or related field.
Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator - Certification must be issued by Red Hat and include the resource’s valid certification number.
Ten (10) or more years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.
Ability to provide three (3) professional business references.
The following skills are highly desired and the ideal candidate will possess the following:
Ten (10) or more years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.
Ten (10) or more years of experience administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.
Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) field.
The resource shall possess the following preferred skills, experience, and capabilities:
Experience working in a complex networked system environment with strong networking and experience administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.
Administering systems including, but not limited to, the applications below:
Oracle WebLogic Servers
Oracle Database Servers
Progress 4GL/Database Servers/OpenEdge
Apache Web Servers
Sphere hosted RHEL Servers.
Rubrik backup systems.
Oracle Database backups.
