Position Overview: Senior Learning Specialist

We are looking for a permanent Senior Learning Specialist who excels as a communicator, innovator, and people developer. This role is the cornerstone of our training delivery team, responsible for providing exceptional learning experiences that drive long-term success for both our associates and our organization.

The ideal candidate will create an optimal adult learning environment—whether in-person or virtual—that encourages sustained success and professional growth. You'll be responsible for the coaching, development, performance monitoring, and engagement of your assigned team, ensuring that every associate has the tools and support they need to exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Learning Specialist at arenaflex, your responsibilities will span the full spectrum of learning delivery and team leadership:


Training Program Leadership: Lead and support a team of up to 30 Customer Support Associates, ensuring they receive comprehensive training that sets them up for long-term success in their roles.

Multi-Modal Learning Delivery: Design and deliver training programs across diverse modalities including self-directed learning, instructor-led sessions, virtual training, and experiential learning opportunities.

Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize both quantitative and qualitative data to identify training needs, measure effectiveness, and continuously improve the learning experience for your team.

Performance Management: Supervise structured learning metrics and oversee results for the assigned territory and region, managing live performance metrics end-to-end.

Session Facilitation: Conduct learning sessions on new processes and deliver various training courses including continuous learning programs, new hire batches, and transfer batches.

Reporting and Analysis: Maintain data and produce analysis through detailed Excel reports as required by business operations.

Program Completion Assurance: Ensure timely completion of new hire training programs, coaching initiatives, and other performance improvement programs.

Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with operational stakeholders as the key point of contact for the Learning Experience team, ensuring alignment between training objectives and business goals.

Coach Development: Identify learning coaches and certify them, building a robust internal capability for ongoing development.

Continuous Improvement: Lead individual improvement projects designed to enhance business performance through innovative training solutions.

Metrics Excellence: Drive both Quality and Learning metrics to ensure highest standards of training effectiveness and team performance.

Virtual and In-Person Facilitation: Conduct both virtual (chime sessions) and in-person classroom sessions for stakeholders across the organization.


Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:


A minimum of 2+ years of experience in training delivery roles, demonstrating a proven track record of excellence in learning and development

At least 1 year of experience in Customer Service or customer service-related work experience, understanding the unique demands of customer-facing roles

Proficient computer skills including mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and instructional software platforms

High accuracy and fluency in both Japanese and English—spoken and written—with the ability to communicate effectively across linguistic and cultural boundaries

Flexibility to work within a 24/7, 365-days global team environment across a variety of time zones, demonstrating adaptability and strong time management skills

In-depth knowledge of adult learning principles, content design, and facilitation techniques

Experience as a trainer, corporate training specialist, or in a related position within a professional corporate environment

Strong project management skills with the ability to supervise multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail

Exceptional ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment


Preferred Qualifications

Advanced certifications in training and development or instructional design

Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms

Background in leading or mentoring training teams

Experience with performance coaching and feedback methodologies

Knowledge of contact center operations and customer service metrics
