Job Overview As a Senior Java Technical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving our insurance business transformation by designing, developing, and implementing high-performance, low-latency platforms and applications. You'll lead the engineering teams, own the complete solution across its entire life cycle, and deliver high-quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment. Key Responsibilities Provide technical leadership to the engineering teams, focusing on key areas and driving the solution across its entire life cycle. Deliver high-quality technology products and services in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities shift quickly. Influence and build vision with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems. Be accountable for the quality, usability, and performance of the solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards. Lead design sessions and code reviews to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization. Utilize programming languages like Java, C#, Kotlin, Python, and SQL and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and services. Coach other engineers professionally to help them realize their full potential and share best practices. Consistently improve processes within and across teams, driving innovation and excellence. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: Fluency and specialization in at least two modern languages such as Java, Kotlin, Python, or C#, including object-oriented and functional programming. Experience building products of micro-services-oriented architecture, extensible REST APIs, and utilizing open-source frameworks. Proficient experience with Spring Boot and other Spring projects such as Spring Data, Spring Integration, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, etc. Experience with containers and container orchestration such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc. Proficiency in building cloud-native HA solutions on public cloud platforms such as AWS/GCP/Azure. Experience with event-driven architectures and building event-driven microservices with pub-sub/streaming technologies such as Kafka. In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge: Experience with Azure SQL VM or PostgreSQL. Practical knowledge of working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe). Experience with TDD/ATDD/BDD. People management experience, with a proven track record of coaching and developing high-performing teams. Annual Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $236,500.00 The above annual salary range is a general guideline.
