As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the user experience of this application, focusing on three key screens: the landing/query screen, loading state, and chat interface. As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you will have the opportunity to work on a project that has the potential to make a significant impact in the industry. Scope of Work Your primary responsibility will be to conduct a heuristic audit and provide direction on hierarchy, spacing, contrast, and usability issues. You will also refine the visual language of the application, including the type scale, color palette, spacing, elevation, and state styles, to create a modern, calm, and expert feel. Additionally, you will focus on polishing the three screens, ensuring that the landing screen, loading state, and chat interface are intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing. Key Responsibilities Conduct a heuristic audit to identify hierarchy, spacing, contrast, and usability issues and propose quick wins and priorities. Refine the visual language of the application, including the type scale, color palette, spacing, elevation, and state styles. Polish the three screens: landing/query screen, loading state, and chat interface. Develop a design system in Figma, including buttons, inputs, cards, chips, tabs, toasts, and icons, with variants and usage notes. Ensure accessibility, including AA contrast, focus states, keyboard navigation, and screen-reader labels. Create a microcopy guide for system messages, loading, errors, and disclaimers. Develop motion specs, including Figma animations or short GIF/Lottie references. Provide a dev handoff, including an organized Figma file, annotations/redlines, and a brief Loom walkthrough. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have a portfolio of shipped web applications, ideally chat/knowledge tools, that demonstrate your polish and systems thinking. You should have expert Figma skills, including autolayout, variants, component properties, and prototyping. Additionally, you should have a strong interaction/motion sensibility and accessibility fundamentals. Comfort designing for Tailwind/design-token workflows is also essential. Preferred Qualifications Experience in regulated or retail environments, as well as familiarity with cannabis retail workflows, would be beneficial. Light front-end literacy, iconography/illustration, and Lottie/After Effects skills are also desirable. Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you should have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work asynchronously and participate in weekly design reviews. You should be comfortable receiving feedback and iterating on your designs. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks are also essential.
