In this position, you will work on a complex single-page application (SPA) built with React and TypeScript, pushing the boundaries of what's possible with frontend technologies.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain a high-performance, feature-rich React / TypeScript frontendImplement complex functionalities and processing capabilities within the frontend, ensuring a seamless user experienceWork on projects from conception to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverablesOptimize the frontend for performance, scalability, and reliabilityWork with the complexities of high quality and high performance video systems and the realities of the internetCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including ML and Backend Engineers, to integrate AI modules or other algorithms with specific requirements and constraintsContribute to the overall architecture and design of the Iris PlatformStay up-to-date with emerging frontend technologies and best practices, and incorporate them into the application as appropriateRequirementsProven experience as a Senior Frontend Engineer, with a strong track record of delivering complex, high-performance SPAsDeep expertise in React and its ecosystem, including state management librariesExperience optimizing frontend performance and implementing best practices for scalabilityStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively when faced with technical challengesExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote team environmentPassion for creating exceptional user experiences and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable codeFamiliarity with WebRTC, WebAssembly, and WebGPU is a plus, comfort in working with all three is a mustAbout YouYou have a genuine passion for computer science and software engineering, and you enjoy working on personal projects outside of workYou are proactive in staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the fieldYou have a diverse range of interests and can bring a unique perspective to problem-solving and innovationYou understand the challenges and opportunities associated with working in a small, fast-paced startup environmentYou are comfortable with increased autonomy, wider job expectations, and the need to be flexible and adaptable in a rapidly changing environmentThe OpportunityAt Iris, we're building a lean, highly skilled team that values autonomy and innovation.
