Senior Financial Consultant (Technical Accounting)
Position: Senior Financial Consultant (Technical Accounting) Location: Chattanooga, TN (REMOTE) Summary: • The Senior Financial Consultant will ensure the integrity of the financial statements and a Sarbanes-Oxley control environment • Technical Accounting experience is required • Technical Accounting experience at an Electric Utility company is a plus • This position is Remote, with occasional travel to Chattanooga, TN Responsibilities: • Ensure the integrity of the financial statements and a Sarbanes-Oxley control environment • Improve financial and business acumen by seeking personal education and reviewing business information and technical documents • Support and influence the development and review of budgets and business planning activities • Support and influence the development and review of monthly forecasts and savings/use • Actively develop and foster relationships within the team and with business partner(s) • Analyze financial reports and cost data to influence outcomes for the achievement of business objectives • Provide management with financial and operational insight to drive effective decision-making • Participate in special projects and initiatives as requested • Refine skills to work independently as a financial consultant Qualifications: • Technical Accounting experience is required • Deep understanding of GAAP/IFRS, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance, SEC Reporting, Revenue Recognition (ASC 606), and Equity Accounting • Ability to perform technical research on complex accounting matters, document findings, and draft policies • Ability to analyze financial statements (balance sheets, cash flows) • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-accountants and senior leadership • High level of accuracy in auditing, reporting, and compliance • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, with a CPA/CA license strongly preferred • Must have strong MS Excel skills for complex spreadsheet modeling • Experience with systems like Oracle NetSuite, SAP, or QuickBooks is preferred • Technical Accounting experience in Utilities/Oil & Gas/Energy is preferred Why Join Paradigm At Paradigm, integrity drives innovation.
