Title: Senior Field Training Specialist Exempt Status: Exempt Management Level: Individual Contributor Reports To: Director, Retail Training Job Summary: The Field Training, Senior Specialist is responsible for motivating and training retail sales associates within the scope of 2-3 regions to deliver a consistent and exceptional customer experience that drives sales performance and promotes the Mattress Firm vision to become America's most trusted authority on sleep. Their primary focus is ongoing sales training while still supporting New Hire education to ensure a cohesive learning experience across all tenures. Essential Responsibilities Lead the execution of learning and development programs and initiatives including coordination, facilitation and evaluation within the scope of 2-3 regions. Provide training in settings such as classroom, hands-on practice, Virtual Instructor Led Training and on-the-job using a variety of instructional techniques. Act as strategic partner to our Learning Programs Team to influence the development, implementation, and management of training programs, working closely with Sales Support Center stakeholders to provide feedback. Coach and motivate management and retail sales associates to improve knowledge and performance in stores, with a strategic focus on targeted training opportunities across designated areas. Establish educational direction, mentorship, and provide constructive feedback. Create comprehensive reports, analysis, and evaluations of training to help monitor completion and effectiveness. Provide timely updates on associate training progress to relevant stakeholders Help drive change to CX (Customer Experience) behaviors, through strong cross-functional relationships, to ensure the Sleep Experts have the tools needed to deliver great experiences. Post implementation of projects, review (qualitatively and quantitatively) how the program is working, identify changes needed, and implement next-up initiatives. Partner with DRT, DVP, RVPs, and other key field stakeholders to ensure the voice of the field and needs of the customer are incorporated into all solutions developed. Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date. Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all. Uphold professional communication standards and brand representation in all interactions Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation. Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations. Maintains a high level of ownership by delivering work on time, engaging in timely cross-functional collaboration, and driving progress through self-motivation and initiative Assist the DRT in the onboarding and development of new Field Training Specialists Partner with and influence District Managers in the delivery of effective sales training Non-Essential Responsibilities Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Contribute ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company. Education Bachelor's Degree Education, Human Resources, Business or related field preferred Professional Experience 2+ Years Relevant and progressive experience in store leadership and/or training required 2+ Years Experience within specialty retail industry preferred required 1+ Years Experience within Field Training Specialist role or equivalent required Skills List Skilled in developing and delivering effective presentations. Effectively plans time to allow efficient completion of tasks in timely manner. Sets clear and specific goals and regularly check on progress towards those goals. Ability to accurately convey a message to others through written, verbal and non-verbal communication. Appropriately acts in the moment to specific situations based on insights and perceptions. Competencies Knowledge Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Medium Knowledge of industry trends in the competitive landscape. Rarely refers specific cases to manager unless clarification or interpretation of organization policies is involved.
