Power Factors fights climate change with code. • Outside China and India ABOUT THE ROLE Our team ensures the reliability and performance of internal and external systems while enabling rapid improvement. We use open source, SaaS, and internally developed tools to manage the service lifecycle — deploy, configure, upgrade, monitor, and optimize. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING • Maintain live services by monitoring performance indicators (availability, throughput, latency) • Advocate for changes to improve reliability, performance, and serviceability • Collaborate with development teams to design and deploy new services (containers, packages, cloud, on-prem) • Work with technologies like Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Mosquitto, Redis, Ansible, Kafka, MQTT, LAMP, Git, GCE, GKE, AWS, Kubernetes, RHEL • Develop production flows and continuous delivery pipelines WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL • 7+ years Linux experience (CLI, scripting, tools, services) • Strong with RHEL variants (CentOS, ALMA, Rocky) • Advanced IP networking skills (routers, switches, DHCP, DNS, routing, NAT, VPN, VLAN, proxies) • Experience with bare metal servers (HPE, iLO, IPMI) • Ansible configuration management • Storage tech: RAID, LVM, SAN • Strong scripting (Bash, Python) • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar • 3+ years Docker & Kubernetes operations • Virtualization (KVM, QEMU, libVirt) • Monitoring tools (Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana) • IT security standards (ISO27001), authentication & access (LDAP, PKI) • DB administration (Postgres, Cassandra, Redis) • Application deployment in Java, Go, or Python • Team player, self-directed NICE TO HAVE • Certifications: LFCS, LFCE, RHCSA, RHCE • SRE practices • Remote work experience • Cloud (GCP, AWS) • Strong documentation habits • Troubleshooting to root cause • Preference for standardization over quick fixes • Open to new tools and steep learning curves LIFE @ POWER FACTORS We are an agile software development company – big enough to make an impact, but small enough to move quickly and execute in a growing industry.
