Senior Digital Artist and Motion Designer

Bluetext is seeking a talented 2D/3D motion designer with a strong foundation in both big, conceptual world-building as well as traditional brand animation to join our creative team and support our B2B and B2G clients. The ideal candidate thrives in both After Effects and Cinema 4D for day-to-day digital, social, and video production needs with our other animators and graphic designers. We are, however, looking for someone who advance our video/animation portfolio into Unreal Engine. This role requires a balance between technical animation skills and creative brand storytelling, ensuring that all visual assets align with our company’s aesthetic and strategic goals. In this role, you will collaborate daily with our video producer/creative director and our senior designer/animator, as well as other internal project stakeholders including executive creative director, supporting designers, and project managers to create cohesive and compelling static and animated solutions. Requirements: • Portfolio demonstrating a master-level fluency within Cinema4D, across the entire 3D production lifecycle from art direction/look dev, modeling, wireframe/previs, texturing, lighting, animating, real time rendering including render optimization / memory management, and compositing. • At least some experience with Unreal Engine encouraged. While Bluetext is a Cinema4D shop first and foremost, we are looking to expand into Unreal Engine and would appreciate the candidate’s interest or experience to help us to do so. • Portfolio demonstrating a master-level fluency within After Effects, across the entire 2D production lifecycle from art direction, design, animation and kinetic typography, as well as vfx on top of live-action stock/footage. • Ability to either sketch or use generative AI tools for conceptual pre-vis and early state ideation. • Any great portfolio that demonstrates the above will be considered, regardless of how many years of experience. Bonus: Agency experience • Candidate must be comfortable working in fast-pace environment, often with same day/week turnaround time. • Candidate must be comfortable working alongside creative directors, project managers, and developers, receiving both creative and technical feedback, and iterating on work with their own solutions, in order to make deliverable as strong as it can be. • While Bluetext has an office in Washington, DC, this is a full-time, remote role with flexibility to work from anywhere.
