About the Role
We're seeking a talented Senior Designer to join our Ability Obtaining Projects team. As a key member of our in-house design team, you'll have the opportunity to concept and execute innovative expressions, visual assets, and practical tools to enhance our candidate and partner (employee) experience. Your creative expertise will play a critical role in driving the success of our HR and recruiting programs, as well as guiding external agencies in the development of creative executions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop design solutions that drive the success of the Starbucks brand while adhering to global creative guidelines, ensuring consistent and effective brand representation.
Own concepting, creative reviews, and overall execution of creative content expectations to support all Starbucks manager brand visual design assets across marketing campaigns and channels, as well as brand enablement assets.
Build engaging tools, assets, and presentations with expert communication design skills, connecting effective solutions decisively to brand and business goals.
Manage intake process and accountability across multiple projects and initiatives with varying deadlines, while supporting project managers in creating timelines.
Provide design counsel to internal stakeholders and external agencies, while art directing production (film, photography, sound, production design, etc.).
Interpret and incorporate creative feedback to advance the work, demonstrating flexibility while responding to feedback through dialogue.
Stay up-to-date on creative trends, easily translating findings into the work, developing and strengthening the Starbucks manager brand.
Consistently draw connections across projects as a source of inspiration and drive smart solutions given the end-user.
Accomplish established objectives while consistently adapting to changing business needs.
Develop strong working relationships within Partner Resources and with cross-functional partners, positively representing the Ability Procurement Projects organization.
Show strong ability to storytell, effectively presenting work to a wide range of audiences, while independently communicating clearly and concisely to all stakeholders.


Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:

A Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts/Visual Design/Visual Communication/Graphic Design or related creative degree.
4+ years of experience with a creative agency or in-house creative team.
Mastery of design principles (color theory, composition, layout principles, and typography).
Ability to create illustration files optimized for digital, social media, packaging, and print.
Ability to interpret the latest trends, contests, and cultures and apply it with a sharp eye for shaping feel and detail.
A understanding of integrated marketing and its various components.
A compelling portfolio of work with a range of creative projects.
Excellent presentation skills.
Proven strength in problem analysis and creative problem-solving.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Exceptional time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Mac and Microsoft Office programs.
A high level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, Tumbler, and Creative Cloud. Proficiency in programs like Sketch, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Opal, and Figma.


Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

A Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts/Visual Design/Visual Communication/Graphic Design or related field.
4+ years of experience concepting marketing, media, and social missions, including strategic concepting, film and social ideas, storyboards, art directing photoshoots and film shoots, art directing production, production designers, and external agencies.
4+ years of experience designing brand identities and creative guides.
4+ years of experience designing digital, game, and/or UX design, including art direction, layout, motion, and creating various types of digital design assets.
4+ years of experience developing strategy and communication design skills.
4+ years of experience designing packaging and designing systems.
4+ years of experience concepting and creating signage and design systems for immersive store experiences.
