Senior Decision Science Analyst

We’re looking for a Decision Scientist who is eager to revolutionize car insurance with us. In this role, you’ll be building advanced pricing models & tools, while modernizing our pricing discipline to all facets of Lemonade - from distribution to underwriting, claims, compliance, and finance. We're building the future of insurance with AI at the center, and we need people who are genuinely excited to learn and grow alongside these tools.In this role you’llBe an owner and expert on our car insurance state rating plansLead the development and integration of predictive modeling projects while working closely with the Data Science teamCraft rate filing support for new machine learning modelsRecommend pricing and underwriting actions based on ongoing monitoring of resultsBuild a knowledge base of competitor rating strategies and the overall competitive landscapeDevelop the rates and pricing strategy for product expansions in new statesAssist in the design and development of internal pricing software for advanced analytics to support real-time decision making and scalable growthCoach and mentor analystsWhat you’ll need4+ years of statistical modeling experienceAdvanced experience developing and implementing predictive models using both supervised and unsupervised machine learning approaches such as GLM, decision tree, and gradient boosting machinesBachelor’s degree in Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related fieldProficiency in data science programming languages such as R or Python (preferred), and database query tools such as SQLPrior experience in the insurance industry, a major plusAbility to work in a remote environmentEnthusiasm about learning and adapting to the exciting world of AI – a commitment to exploring this field is a fundamental part of our culture.Please note that we are unable to sponsor applicants for work visasUnfortunately, we cannot consider applicants from these states; Colorado, California, Montana, Hawaii, New Mexico and Puerto Rico.Lemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000- $140,000 equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
