Senior Database Administrator (NRS Team/Minsk)

We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join our NRS Team!About Team: The NRS point-of-sale (POS) solution consists of devices deployed at our customer’s locations that interact with cloud-based services.With over 30,000 customers across the US, NRS seeks a dedicated resource focused design, configuration, scalability, and performance tuning of the Postgres RDS instances that are core to our cloud infrastructure.Primary location - Minsk, Belarus! Responsibilities: Move large database to new AWS accountSplit database into acorn and regular ops.Further splitting by function, as needed, including choosing alternative dbsPerformance evaluation of current dbReview/coord with devs about errors/warnings in logsContinuing performance monitoring/tuning/optimizationImprove existing queriesPerform reviews of new queriesManage users/roles/permissions/accessCreate a load testing framework schema review/design/management/change management Required Skills and Experience: Responsibility for a large AWS RDS Postgre SQL database.Expectation is for experience with tasks such as: advanced knowledge of SQL for querying, optimization, and troubleshooting new partitions/triggers/seq etc upgrade planning and execution monitoring and alerts capacity planning data archiving/migrations/import/export/etc database backup/recovery database documentationReporting and analytics support security managementAutomate maintenance tasks (audit,fixes,reindexing,etc) disaster recovery planningCost management Desired Skills & Experience: Proficiency in languages like shell scripting for automating repetitive tasks problem-Solving and Troubleshooting including ability to diagnose and resolve database issues promptly and strong analytical skills to conduct root cause analysis and prevent recurring issues ability to clearly communicate database issues and updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders.Proficient in prioritizing tasks, managing multiple projects, and maintaining documentation. works well with cross-functional teams.
