About the Company and Role At Disney, Data Scientists are the driving force behind informed decision-making across various business units, including content, marketing, product, and engineering. As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data models that drive revenue, improve customer experiences, and enhance business outcomes. With a focus on Ads Data Solutions, you'll work closely with Sales Analytics, Finance, Business Operations, Commerce Product, and Engineering teams to tackle complex challenges and drive business success. Key Responsibilities Modeling: Design, build, and enhance machine learning models, working end-to-end from data collection to model deployment, and collaborating with engineering teams to drive experimentation and optimization. Deep Analysis: Develop a comprehensive understanding of audience, brand, and ad operational data systems and metrics, mining large datasets to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Visualization of Complex Data Sets: Develop prototype solutions, mathematical models, and algorithms that lead to actionable insights, communicated clearly and visually to stakeholders. Partnership: Partner closely with business stakeholders to identify and unlock opportunities, and with other data teams to enhance platform capabilities around data modeling, visualization, experimentation, and data architecture. Essential Qualifications Master's Degree: A postgraduate degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, Econometrics, or Statistics. Experience: 7+ years of experience designing, building, and evaluating machine learning solutions, with a strong track record of driving business impact. Technical Skills: Proficiency in statistical programming languages, such as Python, Spark, and PySpark, and database languages, such as SQL. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate's Degree: A Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline, demonstrating advanced knowledge and expertise. Advanced Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical capabilities, with a superior level of data understanding and the ability to drive complex analysis. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Python and libraries, such as sci-kit-learn and SciPy, as well as familiarity with Bayesian modeling and probabilistic programming applications, such as PyMC. Data Systems and Tools: Familiarity with data structures and applications, such as Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Airflow, and Github, as well as data exploration and visualization tools, such as Tableau and Looker. A/B Testing and Experimentation: Demonstrated skills in designing and analyzing A/B testing and other experiment types, with the ability to drive data-driven decision-making. Communication and Leadership: Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical and non-technical insights to various audiences, as well as demonstrated leadership experience, including people and project management.
