Position Overview
Are you ready to harness the power of data to predict viewer behavior, optimize advertising revenue, and shape the future of digital entertainment? As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will be at the forefront of developing and enhancing predictive models that drive strategic decisions across our television and streaming platforms. This role offers the unique opportunity to work with massive datasets, cutting-edge machine learning techniques, and cross-functional teams to deliver unified insights on audience engagement.

You'll be responsible for building predictive models that support viewership forecasting in collaboration with our addressable pricing teams within Research, Insights, and Estimation. Your work will directly impact advertising sales revenue and contribute to the digital P&L for our direct-to-consumer initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Data Quality and Integrity

Interpret complex datasets: Transform raw data from multiple sources into meaningful and actionable insights that inform data-driven decision-making processes
Maintain data pipelines: Oversee automated ETL pipelines to ensure seamless data flow and processing efficiency
Ensure data accuracy: Serve as the expert on internal and external data sources, guaranteeing that data maintains the highest standards of quality and reliability
Create trusted data sources: Establish and maintain a single source of truth for all analytical work, identifying anomalies and developing creative workarounds when necessary
Data governance: Implement best practices for data management, metadata documentation, and lineage tracking


Statistical Modeling and Machine Learning

Develop predictive models: Design and implement new predictive models using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to forecast and project customer engagement across arenaflex platforms
Multi-KPI analysis: Build models that predict engagement across multiple key performance indicators
Driver analysis: Dive deep into drivers of change when interpreting forecasts and proactively drive improvements to model accuracy
Model optimization: Continuously refine and enhance forecast models to improve prediction accuracy and business impact
Innovation in modeling: Explore emerging statistical methodologies and machine learning frameworks to stay at the cutting edge of analytical capabilities


Business Intelligence and Visualization

Create compelling visualizations: Build dashboards and interfaces that communicate complex results to business stakeholders in an accessible, maintainable, and automated manner
Pattern recognition: Analyze data to identify hidden patterns, uncover opportunities, and develop a common understanding of digital media consumption trends
Stakeholder reporting: Deliver regular insights and reports that drive strategic decision-making across the organization
Self-service analytics: Develop tools and resources that enable business partners to access and interpret data independently


Leadership and Collaboration

Partner with business teams: Work closely with addressable pricing teams within Research, Insights, and Estimation to identify opportunities and deliver value
Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with other data teams to improve capabilities around data modeling, testing platforms, and data visualization
Mentorship: Serve as a resource for colleagues with less experience, sharing knowledge and fostering professional growth
Knowledge sharing: Contribute to an "Open Source" learning environment where sharing, documenting, teaching, and collaborating with others is the culture


Process Improvement and Innovation

Drive innovation: Explore new statistical methods and brainstorm ways to enhance the current forecasting and reporting infrastructure
Process optimization: Identify opportunities to make existing processes more efficient and effective
Agile methodology: Apply Agile principles through participation in standups, sprint planning, writing business requirements documents, and retrospectives
Continuous improvement: Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data science and analytics


Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, or a related field
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (advanced degree preferred)


Technical Skills

Advanced SQL proficiency: Expert-level skills in writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and working with large relational databases
Python expertise: Strong proficiency in Python with experience using libraries such as pandas, numpy, and scikit-learn for data analysis and machine learning
Cloud infrastructure experience: Hands-on experience with ETL, data pipeline management, and cloud platforms for managing large volumes of data (e.g., AWS, PySpark, Snowflake, Airflow, Databricks)
Data visualization: Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau for creating interactive dashboards and reports
Predictive modeling: Demonstrated experience designing and implementing predictive models including generalized linear models, time series analysis, decision trees, and other machine learning algorithms
Version control: Experience working with Git for code management and collaborative development

Background in media, entertainment, or advertising analytics
